Interview With Justice Elena Kagan
Justice Elena Kagan was nominated to the bench by President Barack Obama to succeed retiring Justice John Paul Stevens. She began officially serving on the Supreme Court on August 7, 2010. In her first interview since joining the Court, Justice Kagan talks about a host of topics including why she became a lawyer, the acclimation process at the Court, her first oral argument and conference experiences, and how she intends to approach opinion writing. She also discusses her relationship with Chief Justice John Roberts, collegiality amongst the Justices and her thoughts on the confirmation process. Justice Kagan sat with C-SPAN in her temporary chambers inside the Supreme Court building for this interview.
