Supreme Court Historian Jim O'Hara on former Chief Justices Melville Fuller

Jim O’Hara is an historian, lawyer and member of the Supreme Court Historical Society. In this clip, he talks about one of his favorite Chief Justices – Melville Fuller. Appointed by President Grover Cleveland, Fuller is the Chief Justice who is credited with bringing a high level of collegiality to the Court and beginning the tradition that lasts to today of all the Justices shaking hands with each other before oral argument in the Courtroom and before the Justices go into conference to discuss the cases.
